Fantastic result of the 45 swimmer strong Harry Wright Team that competed at Division 1 short course competition at the sizzling fast Victoria Park Aquatics Complex. Our team achieved a very high percentage of personal best times.
Siobhan Haughey smashed Yvette Kong's 200 m breaststroke record. In an amazing race she clocked 1:08.35 at 100 m and finished 2:23.46 taking almost 5 seconds of the old record. An hour later she bettered her own Hong Kong Record in the 400 m IM to 4:42.32. She also won gold in the 100 m Freestyle in 54.90 and took a silver medal in the 100 m backstroke in 1:04.o5.
Impressive racing also of Miles Williams who clocked 8:26.06 in the 800 m freestyle and took a silver medal for that swim. On Sunday he went on to win bronze in the 400 m IM in 4:37.32. Miles had an amazing swim in the 100 m freestyle in 52.89 placing 4th.
Jeffrey Chen showed what a gifted sprinter he is by unleashing tremendous speed in his 100 m freestyle race. He won silver in 52.12.
Gordon Mason got into the " Top 8" of his age group in his 800 m freestyle in a time of 9:14.24. Well done Gordon.
Paige Deayton had a great performance in the 400 m IM where she placed 7th in 5:21.71.
Samantha Gove ranked among the Top 8 in all her 4 races. Most impressive was her 100 m freestyle swim in 1:01.67.

THE COLD HALF!
That rather chilly time of year has come round again, it is almost time for the mighty 'Cold Half' - HK's 15km Open Water Marathon swim! Last year coaches Hannah Wilson & Henry Wright came out on top and set the course record!
This year we are glad to announce that it has mustered up some more interest throughout the HWI team, and there are a number of HWI swimmers entering!
Coaches Hannah Wilson & Kevin Chow, Aneekah Styles & Jemima Ridley, and Angus Keheller & Samantha Morton are all doing the two person relay category. Starting at Stanley Main Beach each swimmer spends 30 minutes in the water and then swap around until you have reached the Boat Club on Middle Island - approximately 15km's away!
Coach Henry Wright has entered the 'Cold Standard' which means he will be doing the 'Cold Half' 15km as a solo swim, and then the next day he will be running the full 42km Standard Chartered Marathon! He is doing it on behalf of Hong Kong Dog Rescue, and so far has raised over $20,000!
