Harry Wright International gets mention in the official magazine of AUSTSWIM

It was with some surprise that Harry Wright International got a mention in the official newsletter of AUSTSWIM. In June 2008 HWI organised a course for our instructors. Read below the excerpt from the magazine.

"Early 2008, Sharon Wrobel at the Australian International School Hong Kong recognised a need for an AUSTSWIM course and invited myself to present these courses in Hong Kong. Sharon is a qualified AUSTSWIM teacher and has been a Course Presenter. She identified a need for a structured program for swim teachers and identified the AUSTSWIM course being the most suitable. It was decided to conduct three courses Teacher of Swimming and Water safety, Towards Competitive Strokes and Infant and Preschool aquatics. The courses were delivered at the Australian International School, Hong Kong in June 2008. The courses were attended by Western and Asian teachers involved in the aquatic industry over a number of years. Some participants were Australian expatriates who were very grateful to have the opportunity to attend an extension module in Hong Kong.

The participants who had not attended an AUSTSWIM course previously were very impressed with the content of the modules and resources. Harry Wright Swim School, a well established swim school in Hong Kong sent 10 participants to each course, they were grateful for the opportunity to become AUSTSWIM qualified, as the AUSTSWIM reputation is very well respected, due to Australian expatriates like Sharon, Janet and Julianne who have been working within the AUSTSWIM frameworks for many years and have gained a very respectable reputation. It is hoped an ongoing relationship to increase AUSTSWIM's exposure in the region will be developed in the coming months.

Marcelle is an AUSTSWIM Course Coordinator, Presenter and Teacher in QLD, qualified in TSW, INF, TCS, PWD, and Adults. Marcelle won the 2008 Queensland Presenter Award for her outstanding commitment to AUSTSWIM." (September 2008, Aqualife, AUSTSWIM 2008)
