 Shing Mun Valley 9-11 March 2018 A team of 30 HWI Swim Team swimmers represented South China Athletic Association at the recent Hong Kong Age Nationals. In total there where 97 Individual Swims with 74 Pbs (76%). 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 5 Bronze and 29 Top 8 Finishes* (Inclusive of Relays Swims*) in what was a very competitive meet. Temana Short (15-17) picked up the only Gold Medal of the meet winning the 50m Freee. He also picked up a bronze in the 100m Free. (5 Swims 4 Pbs.) Sarah Chu (13-14) finishing in the top 8 in all events after moving up into the older age category. She picked up a silver in the 100 Free with a 59.57 effort. Bronze in the 100 Back with a massive drop to 1:07.42. (7 Swims 7 Pbs.) Summer Lam (11-12) picked up 2 Bronze medals in the 50m Fly & 200m Free. She also finished inside the Top 5 in her other events. (6 Swims 6 Pbs.) Eden Lim (10/under) picked up her first ever national medal in the 100 Free with a great swim. She also finished top 8 in her other 4 events. (5 Swims 5 Pbs) Emeric Payer (11-12) had his best ever Age Nationals finishing inside the Top 8 in 4 out of his 5 swims. His highest place finish was 6thin both the 400m Free and 200 Back. (6 Swims 5 Pbs) There were also some great swims from our younger swimmers in the Development groups. Some racing at their first ever nationals. Natalie Ho (Gold SCAA) place 9th in the 100 Breast. Annika Chu (Gold WIS) placed in 11th in the 200 Free. Jeanelle Lee (Gold SCAA) placed 12th in 200 Free.
