Harry Wright Elite Long Distance Swimmers Win Gold and Silver at Hong Kong Open Water Championship
The Hong Kong Open Water Swimming Competition Series (Part 3) took place on Sunday, January 4th, 2026 at Tai Mei Tuk, and Harry Wright was proud to enter two of our elite long distance swimmers in this prestigious championship. Both athletes delivered exceptional performances in challenging conditions and achieved remarkable results.
Exceptional Medal Performances
We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our elite swimmers:
Gold Medalist:
•Wong Yik Man Mike - 🥇 Gold Medal in the 3.3km Event (Time: 43:08.6)
Silver Medalists:
•Sin Chin Ting Keith - 🥈 Silver Medal in the 5km Event (Time: 59:09.6)
•Sin Chin Ting Keith - 🥈 Silver Medal in the 1500m Event
Perseverance in Challenging Conditions
The competition was held in notably cold weather, with water temperatures reaching just 13 degrees Celsius. The ability of our swimmers to persevere and deliver medal-winning performances in such demanding conditions is truly admirable and speaks to their exceptional training, mental toughness, and dedication to the sport.
Open water swimming presents unique challenges compared to pool-based competition. It requires not only physical endurance and technical proficiency but also mental resilience and the ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions. Our athletes demonstrated all of these qualities in abundance.
