Harry Wright Swimmers Excel at HKGSA Division 2 Long Course Championship with Multiple Medal Wins

The Harry Wright Performance Squad had an outstanding showing at the HKGSA Division 2 Long Course Championship (Part 1), held on Saturday, April 25th at Kowloon Tsai Swimming Pool. This was the first long course Division 2 meet of the season, and it proved to be a long and highly competitive day with swimmers from many teams competing for medals and qualifying times.
A Full Day of Competition
Harry Wright sent a large team to compete, and the championship ran from morning through evening sessions. All of our swimmers performed well, with many pursuing new qualifying times and striving to achieve personal best performances. The dedication and effort displayed by our swimmers throughout this extended competition day was truly commendable.
Coaching Excellence and Support
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Coach Chui Wai Chun and Coach Lee Zento for their commitment throughout the long competition day, with additional support from Coach Scott Fong in the afternoon sessions. The expertise and dedication of our coaching staff are instrumental in preparing our swimmers for success at the championship level. We also thank all parents for their invaluable support throughout the day.

Yip Joelle Yee Kiu (11-12 Girls) earned gold in the 100m Breaststroke with an impressive time of 1:22.58, showcasing her strength and consistency in this discipline.
Knecht Ilythya (15-17 Girls) claimed silver in the 200m Backstroke (2:32.28), demonstrating her competitive excellence in the longer backstroke distance.

Swimmers participated in a wide range of long course events including freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke, showcasing the versatility of our squad.
Pursuing Qualifying Times and Personal Bests
Many of our swimmers used this championship as an opportunity to pursue new qualifying times for higher divisional competitions and to achieve personal best performances. The long course format provides an excellent platform for swimmers to test their fitness and technical development over the longer distances.
